For the 2004 Haunted House, me and Steve needed a way to control the lights from the "bubble". A trip the hardware store and 10 bucks later, I had just what the mad scientist ordered! The design is quite simple, point to point wiring with scrap Romex wire. I broke the tabs off the hot side of all the plugs so I could switch each individual plug separately. I had 3 recepticals with 2 plugs each, that gave me 6 "Channels" for lights. The neutrals of the plugs where all tied together on the plugs. I stripped 1.5 cm sections of insulation from a long piece of Romex and wrapped each of the bare spots on the terminal of each switch. Construction is just some scrap wood I found in the garage. I screwed 2 pieces of wood to a board to provide a place to mount the plugs and protect the wiring. There are no covers, just some tape over all the openings to protect against wandering fingers. Next year or so I plan to put on proper covers. 1/13/05 |
